My life revolves around building website applications as that’s how I make a living. Because of that I know how prone to error they are so I’m naturally inclined to take up for Apple with all the issues they’re having with the new iPhone.
Having said that, it’s becoming hard for me to be cool with how they’re handling all these issues.
We build stuff all the time that breaks and any tech firm that says they don’t is full of shit. What separates the professionals from the amateurs is how they fix it. Notice I said how, not if. I’ve got some very strong opinions regarding the BP oil spill and mainly they center around how poorly they’ve managed this disaster from a PR perspective.
Now, I respect the ever-loving crap out of Apple and the iPhone even more and this is no way meant to be a slamfest. I just wish they would have worked a little harder to not seem so “whatever” about this whole antenna deal.
I guess the bottom line is simple: everyone screws up. Show some character and handle it right when you do.
